OTTUMWA-Gordon Raymond Heady Sr, 83, of Ottumwa, died at 3:02 p.m. December 3, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa.

He was born June 28, 1941 in Ottumwa to Wendell and Marjorie Wymore Heady.

Gordon loved the outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and taking walks at Lake Arrowhead. Gordon also had a glorious sense of humor.

Surviving are his children, Mindy (Jeff) Skinner of Ottumwa, Jennifer Parker of Ottumwa, Gordon (Lisa) Heady Jr. of Fairfield and Julie (Mark) Durr of Florida; 8 grandchildren, Jacob (Holly) Skinner, Molly (Thomas) Kopatich, Mandy (Shane) Williams, Megan Parker, Travis (Chelsea) Septer, Sheena (Trevor) Hoff, Steven Durr and Joseph Durr; 14 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Chloe and Logan Valent, Ryli Baker, Woodrow and JR Parker, Landon Heitmeier and Avery Hoff, Peyton and Hunter Septer, Braelee and Alex Skinner and Josephine and Jeffrey Kopatich; 2 sisters, Sherryl Antle and Nancy (Doug) Baird; and 2 brothers, Dennis (Carole) Heady and David (Lisa) Heady.

He was preceded in death by his parents

His body has been cremated.
